As our systems strain under their own contradictions and begin to crumble, a silent tragedy unfolds in homes across the world. The most compassionate among us—those with naturally integrated intelligence—find themselves making painful decisions to sever ties with family, friends, and communities before the collapse accelerates. This isn't callousness or abandonment; it's survival.

For generations, our society has conditioned people to view those who cannot or will not fragment their perception as acceptable targets for collective anxiety and rage. When systems built on fragmentation inevitably fail, they do not immediately recognize their structural flaws. Instead, they search for someone to blame—preferably someone who has been pointing out these flaws all along. The sensitive become the scapegoats.

Those with cognitive flexibility must find safe harbor before the storm intensifies, or risk being torn apart by the very people they try to help navigate the changing tides. The epidemic of estrangement we're witnessing isn't just personal tragedy; it's the canary in the coal mine for broader societal dynamics that intensify during collapse.

The Biological Roots of Our Division

The conflict between cognitive flexibility and cognitive stamina isn't merely psychological—it's neurobiological. The human brain naturally integrates information across regions, with the prefrontal cortex, limbic system, and cerebellum in constant communication. Cognitive flexibility depends on the robust connectivity between these systems, allowing for rapid adaptation to changing circumstances through the integration of analytical thinking, emotional processing, and embodied knowledge.

Those with high sensitivity maintain strong connections between brain regions associated with analytical thinking, emotional processing, and bodily awareness. Those who have been conditioned to prioritize cognitive stamina at the expense of integration show reduced connectivity between these regions, with hypertrophy in areas associated with focused attention and inhibitory control.

Human civilization has benefited from both. But the focus on stamina, in the 2D education system, has resulted in significantly reduced cognitive flexibility for 98% of the population. Without cognitive flexibility humanity greatly reduces its ability to navigate change. For the last 90 years our systems have increasingly conditioned for cognitive stamina, while actively suppressing cognitive flexibility. This has created a profound imbalance in this very needed ability that will increasingly manifest as both individual suffering and systemic dysfunction.
